Harvest at Jimmy’s – the festival with more than one bite!

What a fantastic festival weekend Harvest at Jimmy’s was. Even though the weather threw rain and wind at us in the night, the days were packed with glorious sunshine and tasty food!

From the chefs, cooks and a Porridge Lady! on stage to the hands on masterclasses, we had a feast for the eyes and tasters for the tummy.

For me the highlight of the weekend was the British Street Food Awards http://britishstreetfood.co.uk/the-2011-finalists/ adding colour, flavour and food excitement to the weekend. Rather than those ‘bog standard’ food vans that seem to breed at festivals the street food sellers had tasty wares, pride in their food and funky vans!

No detail was over looked in either food or style of these street vendors;

Harvest is a truly food loving festival, but with an edge; from welcoming newcomers like me to their food stage to including local producers and the Street Food vendors to the food sellers.

Only one request for next year…. please no more loud margarine singing sellers!
