One of the things I enjoy most about being involved with the Local Lunch radio show is the roving reporting that I do. Whilst we have studio guests, busy farmers and growers can’t always come in to see us so I love packing my recording equipment and going out to see them. I also get to attend events with my reporting and interview people involved on the cutting edge food.
For this Tuesday’s show I attended a lecture provocatively titled ‘Occupy Oxfordshire’. Held on the Hardwick estate, Oxfordshire, by Sir Julian Rose, it was a call to wake up to how the planning system controls our access to land for food production. It was also a cry to get involved in the style of the ‘Occupy’ movement.
On the show you will get to hear Sir Julian in his own words and my take on the lecture. I will also be talking about the new food growing and buying groups developing around Oxford. There will also be all the local food news & info on seasonal cooking plus lots of great music and a Local Lunch too! Listen on-line on Tuesday the 31st Jan from 12-2pm on;
