‘Quest for Best’ with Porridge Lady and Mornflake for a Golden Spurtle winning recipe

Share

It’s that time of year again, the time when I start preparing for the Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championship. This year, in the 19th year of the competition, I’m doing things a bit differently as I’m on a ‘Quest for Best’!

This year working with Mornflake, Britain’s longest established miller of oats,  I am inviting you to submit recipe ideas for me to cook for in the speciality section of the Golden Spurtle Championship. I’m looking for exciting and innovative recipes, something to wow the audience and something to win over the judges. Most of all I’m looking to inspire you to get creative with oats.

As a ‘Freestyle Porridge Maker’ I believe that there is more to oats than basic Porridge. The mighty oat can be a great place for lots of breakfast inspiration but also lunch, dinner and dessert dishes too. In 2009 I won the speciality award for my ‘Oatmeal Spotted Dick’ recipe and since then I have cooked up savoury dishes for the competition too. So let’s get creative!

Mornflake have organised the wonderful competition; ‘Quest for the Best’ giving you a chance to win a VIP trip to the food festival ‘Taste of London’. All you need to do, to be with a chance of winning, is submit your recipe here; http://mornflake.com/whats-on/quest-for-best.aspx (full terms and conditions of the competition can also be found on this web page) get creative and…
