After blogging on my traditional oatmeal recipe for the Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championships people have been asking me where I got my “special salt” from. Quiet simply it came from one of the most beautiful places in Scotland… The Isle Of Lewis.

Whilst on my travels I had the great opportunity to visit the home of Hebridean Sea Salt, located in the South Lochs area of Lewis. I got to see the salt making in action…

The salt is a great product from such clear waters and I think it has a great taste too. For my Porridge perfection I am always seeking out quality salt so I was really excited to use the Hebridean Sea Salt at the competition.
