Well I may have been having troubles getting lovely Porridge bowls for the Golden Spurtle World Porridge comp but there’s been ‘nay bother with the oatmeal! 😉
I am very pleased this year to be using Mornflake coarse oatmeal for the traditional section of the competition. The last couple of years I’ve tested and tried blending different oatmeals (course and medium, medium and fine) but this year I’m going back to my favourite and most successful oatmeal (always a finalist when I use the course meal).
For the specialty section I will be using Mornflake’s medium oatmeal for a recipe that is very Scandinavian inspired but Shhhhhh! It’s still top secret 😉
